Tell us about your business

The more detail you share, the better your funding matches will be.

The starting point for your matches. Many programs are industry-specific — grants for food businesses, loans for manufacturers, credits for construction trades. Pick the closest fit.

The form fields give us the facts. This is where you give us the picture. We use your description to write the “why this fits you” section in your digest — so the more you tell us about your story, your situation, and what you’re working toward, the sharper that writing will be. Don’t worry about covering things you already answered above. Tell us what makes your business yours.

Example: “My mother opened this flower shop on Main Street in 1987 and I took it over from her eight years ago. We’re the only florist left downtown — everyone else moved to the strip mall or went online. We do weddings, funerals, corporate accounts, and walk-ins. The shop itself needs work — the cooler is original equipment and I’ve been nursing it along for two years. I also want to add a small gift section to bring in foot traffic in the slower months. I’ve never applied for a grant before. Flower costs are up, the electric bill on the cooler has crept up every year, and my insurance renewed higher again in January. I want to hear about any opportunities that fit me and make sure I don’t miss anything worthwhile.”

Many programs cap eligibility by headcount — some are for businesses under 10 employees, others require a minimum. This filters out programs you won’t qualify for.

Your address unlocks neighborhood-specific programs — including HUBZone, Opportunity Zone, and Enterprise Zone grants tied to your exact location. Never shared externally.

FundBug currently serves MA, RI, and PA.

Helps us filter out programs with revenue caps that don’t match your size. If you skip this, we won’t filter by revenue — you’ll see all programs regardless of size requirements.

Affects eligibility for real estate grants and location-based programs.

Some loan and grant programs require businesses to demonstrate year-round operations — we’ll filter those out for you. Others are designed specifically for seasonal businesses.

Several programs — including state e-commerce grants and digital adoption programs — are specifically for businesses that sell online. This helps us match or filter a meaningful slice of your opportunities.

Some loan programs are designed specifically for businesses banks won't serve. If you skip this, we won't filter by financing access — you’ll see all loan opportunities regardless.
Helps us calibrate application complexity and competition level for your matches.

Many programs have minimum operating requirements — some are only for businesses under 2 years old, others require at least 2 years of history. This filters your matches to only what you’re eligible for.

Several programs specifically target start-ups and early-stage businesses.

Many programs are specifically designed for underrepresented business owners — often with less competition and higher win rates than general programs. Checking what applies unlocks opportunities you’d otherwise never see. This information is never shared externally and is used solely for matching.
